Welcome to The Farmers Arms
The Farmers Arms is a traditional village pub, offering a friendly welcome, a wide range of beers and other drinks, and great food at realistic prices.
We are located in the pretty Pembrokeshire village of Mathry. If you are driving along the A487 from Fishguard to St Davids, Mathry is the village on a hill six miles from Fishguard. If you are walking the Coast Path, we are a mile and a half up the road from Abercastle.
The Farmers Arms is a creeper-clad period building, retaining much of its original character in the beamed bar area, while the Conservatory Garden Room, the perfect spot for parties or just to relax over a leisurely meal, is full of Mediterranean-style plants. This lively, bustling pub is a family business, run by Sally and Bryan Farmer and their daughter Anne-Marie.
We serve a comprehensive range of beers, ales, lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Especially popular, and always available, are the two leading Welsh ales, Brain’s Reverend James and Felinfoel’s Double Dragon. And there is always a guest beer on tap.
The pub is renowned for its excellent and reasonably priced food, the magazine Country Living lavishing praise on our ‘home-prepared meals using as much locally supplied produce as possible’. This includes really fresh, ‘picked this morning’ vegetables grown by Sally and Bryan. We have been awarded the Pembrokeshire Produce Mark, and have gained a Level Two Green Dragon Award for our commitment to running our business in an environmentally friendly way.
The menu provides plenty of choices so that the whole family are sure to be satisfied. Every day the menu is supplemented by dishes on the Specials Board, such as Abercastle Crab Cakes and other local fish meals, and Sundays, of course, means a Sunday Roast. If you want to organise a party or any other event with food, speak to Anne-Marie, who will be delighted to help.
At the very heart of the village of Mathry, the Farmers Arms also has a busy calendar of live music, quiz nights, charity fund-raisers, themed evenings and special events. To keep up-to-date with what’s happening, register to receive our emails (firstname.lastname@example.org), or for the very latest up-to-the-minute news from and about the Farmers Arms visit our Facebook page.
To sum up, the Farmers Arms in Mathry is everything a good village pub should be! But don’t just take our word for it. Come and see for yourself
